I am sooo happy to finally be in Mexico. I've been looking forward to this for so long and it's finally here! I decided to do a social media detox for the week I'm in Mexico. Maybe now that I've told all of you I REALLY won't break my pact. I think that it's the perfect opportunity to focus on relaxation and rejuvenation. I can't wait to tan, read, listen to music, play tennis, swim, eat lots and lots of fruits and veggies, and practice mindfulness. I brought along a little book that I bought before I left called Mindfulness On the Go by Jan Chozen Bays and it's AMAZING! I haven't gotten super far, but I already HIGHLY recommend. I read a book on mindfulness earlier this past semester and it was really amazing to see the world through a new lens. I feel like I spend a lot of my life thinking about the past and what I should've said or should've done or replaying moments in my mind, trapped in a spiral. On the other hand, I fantasize about the future. I don't think it's bad to have dreams about the future, but I also think it's extremely important to stay in the moment and live every moment to it's fullest. I know, I know, that's really cliche, but it's true. I already feel much more productive today, just by really experiencing everything. Next time you sit down for a meal, really experience the moment. Experience all of your sense: what do you feel, see, touch, smell? Trust me, it makes it feel like a whole new sensation. Rather then eating bite after bite, shoveling in your food, if you slow down and think about every bite, you enjoy it more; at least that's what I have felt. I'm really excited to get away from the stress of social media this week and focus on mindfulness and enjoying myself. While it sounds trivial, I have worries about things I post...will people like it? Will they think I'm weird for posting that? Or comparing myself to other girls. Why don't I have abs like that? I wish I was that tan...These thoughts take us into a detrimental spiral where we question everything. Practicing mindfulness, we can snap out of those spirals before they're out of control. I think it'll be so nice to unplug (except for my blog of course!) and relax this week.

Can't wait to share my outfits with you this week!

I got this plaid skort from Brandy Melville a while ago and I love pulling it out every fall/winter. It pairs perfectly with over the knee boots. These are Stuart Weitzman, but here are some look alikes: here, here, and here. This cowl neck sweater is so cozy and tops the look off!

I am obsessed with these leather leggings. They add such a fun touch to a simple look. Also...they're under $15!! They are too cute with this oversized chunky knit (only $26!!!) and this scarf from Forever 21 a year or two ago.

This is such a nice casual look for errands or a coffee with friends.

I did a shoot with Kristen again a couple weeks ago downtown. I just love this outfit that we shot. I got these checkered pants from Princess Polly, planning on wearing them during recruitment in January, but we'll see!! I paired them with a sweater from Shein (that's soo affordable!) and a leather jacket (that's also insanely affordable).

I haven't "redone" my room at my dad's house in FOREVER!! I never fully redid it, but I got a few new things here and there. I decided that it would be the perfect room to makeover for my blog. It's the perfect blank(ish) canvas and I can't wait to see how it looks after I finish.

My dad painted two unicorns on my wall when I was about seven (and as cute as they are), I thought the perfect solution to covering them without getting rid of them, would be removable wallpaper. A lot of places, like Chasing Paper and Spoonflower, make wallpaper that is completely removable if you don't want the hassle of permanent stuff.

I love the hues and pattern of this wallpaper. Blue is the MOST calming and pretty color (I think) for rooms, so this will look really nice.

I'm getting white bedding, probably this set from Target because it's so affordable. I ordered some pillows that bring in a pretty pink color, but also have the same navy color. I love the pillow patterns and think they'll be the perfect addition! (blue euro sham, pink patterned shams, throw pillow with tassels).

Wall art and decor is ALWAYS what makes the room, so I found this download from Etsy for under $7 (and I'll print at Kinkos for probably $1.50), framed by a $17 frame from Target! I love how affordable this print is, but it's so cute and adds the perfect personality to this makeover. My bedside table now is white, so it's absolutely perfect! I'll probably add a gold lamp with a white shade for a nice touch. I can't wait to post pictures when I am finished! Overall, I'll be doing this makeover from under around $250, which is great if you're on a budget!
